Bordeaux - Rescuers aided by sniffer dogs fought yesterday to save workers trapped under tonnes of rubble and grain after a group of silos near Bordeaux collapsed following a blast, the fire brigade said. The missing are believed buried under piles of grain or slabs of concrete that smashed to the ground when the 40metre-high silos at the site at Blaye on the Gironde river, 50km southwest of Bordeaux, were demolished by the unexplained explosion. Reports late last night said 13 were feared dead.
