WORKERS at Dunnes Stores began voting yesterday on the settlement proposals recommended by their shop stewards and union executives.

The ballot is being conducted at mass meetings around the State, where the terms of the settlement are also being explained.

All three unions, Mandate, SIPTU and the MPGWU, will count the votes simultaneously on Saturday morning.

If, as expected, the 7,000 strikers accept the terms, then the dispute will end with union and management representatives formally endorsing the new agreement on Saturday afternoon.
