An award of £41,000 damages and costs was made against journalist Ms Nell McCafferty in the High Court yesterday following a traffic accident nearly three years ago.
Ms McCafferty, of Rugby Road, Ranelagh, Dublin, was sued by Mr Matthew Byrne, a plant fitter, of Ludford Road, Ballinteer, Dublin, following a collision between their cars at North Road, Finglas, on February 2nd, 1999.
