CHANGES to the interior of Carlow Cathedral, including the removal of the altar rails and pulpit, are to proceed following a Supreme Court decision yesterday.

A parishioner, Mr Sean Connolly, of Chapelstown, Co Carlow, was refused an interlocutory injunction by the Supreme Court. He is taking the action against the Cathedral Administrator, Father John Byrne, and the trustees of the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlia.

After the decision, Mr Connolly indicated that he would be proceeding to take the action to a full hearing.
