A Dublin man has pleaded guilty to murdering a 63-year-old man at his home last year after a Central Criminal Court trial lasting over four weeks.
Kenneth Cummins (28), with an address at Ringsend Park, Dublin 4, previously pleaded not guilty to murdering Thomas Horan (63) at Cambridge Court, Ringsend on January 6th, 2014.
Mr Justice Tony Hunt told the jury at 4.15pm this afternoon that "something was going to happen now which will explain why we had this delay".
Pleaded guilty
Kenneth Cummins was then rearraigned in front of the jury, where he pleaded guilty to the murder of Mr Horan.
Mr Justice Hunt then told the jury Mr Cummins has “taken a certain course of action and had instructed his team to that effect”.
The judge told the jury this brings its involvement in the trial of Mr Cummins to an end and they now have one trial to deal with, that of his sister Sabrina Cummins.
‘See you at 10am’
“I will proceed to deal with instructions in her trial in the morning. See you at 10am,” he said.
Ms Cummins (37), with an address at Ringsend Park, Dublin 4, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Horan at Cambridge Court, Ringsend on January 6th last year.
The trial continues.
