Singer Dolores O’Riordan has been summonsed to appear before Ennis District Court next week for alleged assault, arising from an incident at Shannon Airport last November.

A garda served court papers on the Cranberries singer in Limerick last Tuesday.

They were served after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) recommended that Ms O’Riordan (43) face three minor assault or section 2 assault summonses under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997, arising from the incident on November 10th last.

She is also facing an additional summons of resisting arrest at Shannon Airport on the same date.
