Gardaí have seized drugs worth €5.1million and arrested five people in Dublin last night.

More than 330kg of cannabis was found in vehicles and a business park during the intelligence-led operation.

Officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit stopped a van and a car on the Ballymun Road in the city.

Gardaí then seized about 90kg of cannabis resin and arrested three men, one in his 20s, another in his 30s and the third in his 70s.

The three are in custody at Ballymun and Finglas Garda stations.

In a follow up operation, Gardaí investigated a unit at a North Dublin business park and seized about 240kg of the cannabis herb.

At the park, they arrested a fourth man in his 30s and he remains in custody at Blanchardstown Garda station.

A short time later a woman in her 30s was arrested in the Ballymun area.

She is being detained under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act also in Blanchardstown Garda station.
