Gardaí appeal for witnesses over death of cyclist in Co Kerry

The man in his 60s was found lying on the road at Colkeragh on Wednesday

Gardaí investigating the death of a cyclist in Co Kerry earlier this week have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The man in his 60s, who has not been identified, was discovered on Wednesday. Gardaí received a call just after 5pm on that day to attend a location at Colkeragh on the R552 between Ballylongford and Listowel where he had been discovered lying on the road.

He was taken by helicopter to University Hospital Limerick, where he was pronounced dead in the early hours of Thursday.

Following a postmortem examination on Friday, gardaí appealed for witnesses to ascertain the circumstances of the man’s death.
