The Cork City Divisional Drugs and Fraud units and members of the Criminal Assets Bureau were involved in the investigation.

All four were released without charge around 10pm last night and gardaí will now prepare a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into the drug dealing activities of an organised crime gang based on the north side of Cork city. Yesterday’s arrests follow on from the arrest and questioning of three women, aged 21, 33 and 50, and a 33- year-old man in Cork on September 3rd.

In February, investigating gardaí arrested another woman and recovered €36,000 which they believe to be the proceeds of crime when they raided a house on Kerryhall Road in Fairhill.BARRY ROCHE
