Heroin worth up to €525,000 seized in Ranelagh

A man and woman were arrested following a seizure of heroin worth more than €500,000 in Dublin on St Patrick’s Day.

The drugs were found when gardaí from Kevin Street station searched a house at Swan Grove in Ranelagh on Tuesday evening.

During the operation, officers found seven blocks of suspected heroin that weighed half a kilo each. The haul had an estimated worth of €525,000, gardaí said.

The man, who is in his 40s, is in custody at Kevin Street Garda station.

The woman, also in her 40s, has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
