Gardaí have arrested a man and seized cannabis worth an estimated €200,000 following an operation in Cabra.

A statement from the Garda said the operation was “intelligence led” and targeted the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Dublin area.

Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, as well as the Divisional Drugs Unit in Finglas/Cabra carried out a search of an address in Cabra.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

He can be held for up to seven days.

“These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks,” said the Garda.

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
