A 22-year-old Tallaght native has pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to a 20-year-old, who died two days after being injured at a footbridge in Tallaght.
Dale Creighton died in hospital on January 2nd 2014.
James O'Brien (22) of The Mill, Baltinglass, Co Wicklow is charged with assaulting Mr Creighton on New Year's Day on Saint Dominic's Road, Tallaght.
Dressed in a striped shirt, he stood and pleaded guilty when arraigned before the Central Criminal Court.
Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy heard that O’Brien had no previous convictions, was already linking in with the probation services and that a report would be prepared.
He remanded him on continuing bail for sentence on October 12th next.
Seven other Dubliners in their 20s are also charged in connection with Mr Creighton’s death.
All are originally from Tallaght and are due to go on trial in October 2016.
