Youth arrested as stolen postal delivery van is recovered in Dunshaughlin village

A 17-year-old man has been arrested following the theft of an An Post delivery van in Lucan in west Dublin this morning .

The delivery van was stolen in the Rosscourt area between 9am and 9.30am.

The van was unoccupied when it was taken but the driver was injured while attempting to retrieve the vehicle.

He was taken for treatment to Blanchardstown hospital, but gardaí said his injuries are not serious.

The delivery van was recovered a short time later in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath.

Gardaí have called on anyone who was in the Rosscourt Grove area of Lucan at the time of the theft or in Dunshaughlin village between 10am and 11am, to contact them at Lucan Garda station on 01-6667300, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666111 or at any Garda station.
