Woman dies in Dublin house fire on Clanbrassil St

A 70 year-old woman has died following a house fire in Dublin on Sunday morning.

Gardaí say they were alerted to a blaze at a premises in St Malpas Place, just off Clanbrassil Street in the south of the city, shortly after 7am.

The woman was brought to St James Hospital by emergency services, but was later pronounced dead. She was alone in the house when the fire occurred.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination, but gardaí do not believe the incident was suspicious.
