Paris - The French National Assembly passed a bill overnight on Wednesday making bullying and harassment at work punishable by a prison sentence of up to a year and a fine up to 100,000 francs (£12,000).
The bill applies to cases of so-called moral harassment, the use of excessive authority in the workplace.
French senators removed the fine from the bill after a first reading by deputies, who later restored it and passed the bill on its second reading.
