An album which is the fruits of an 18-month collaboration between traditional group Dervish and Leitrim-based artists was launched last night in Dublin.
Leitrim Equation2features actor Adrian Dunbar, who resides at times in the county, and Larry Cunningham's classic Lovely Leitrim, featuring Dervish singer Cathy Jordan and Eleanor Shanley, among many artists. Dervish were commissioned by Leitrim County Council as band in residence for 2010/11 following a successful residency by the band Lúnasa. The new album was launched last night at the Button Factory in Dublin, with a concert afterwards.
The third Leitrim collaborative album project will feature the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.
