US authorities yesterday indicted a Dublin resident on charges that he emailed bomb threats to the University of Pittsburgh.

Scottish national Adam Stuart Busby (64) has been accused of emailing bomb threats which forced the evacuation of classrooms and dormitories at the campus in February.

Busby claims to be a member of the Scottish National Liberation Army.

He faces 17 charges of threats against the university, as well as a charge of threatening Mr Hickton and of emailing bomb threats to Pennsylvania courthouses in June.

The announcement was made by the FBI and the US attorney at a news conference yesterday.

It was unclear when he would face charges in the US.

FBI special agent Gary Douglas Perdue said that sending bomb threats was a serious crime and a drain on law enforcement resources.” – (AP)
