ATHENS - Several illegal would-be immigrants seeking to reach the Greek island off Rhodes from Turkey drowned overnight when their boat overturned, port authorities on the island said yesterday.
They said one of the passengers on the boat who survived alerted the authorities who located the bodies of several women and children floating in Turkish waters.
