Addis Ababa - Ethiopia's leaders accused Eritrea of launching a fresh attack yesterday in one of the disputed areas along their border. A government spokesman said Eritrean forces attacked Ethiopian positions 5 km from the town of Badme.
The area around Badme and nearby Shiraro lies in the highly sensitive Yirga triangle, an area of northern Ethiopia where the exact frontier demarcation is in dispute.
