The funeral took place today in Strabane, Co. Tyrone, of Mrs. Attracta Harron, the murdered sixty-five years old retired librarian whose body was found concealed in a field in Sion Mills last Monday.
Mrs Harron's body was found almost four months after she had gone missing while walking to her Strabane home after attending morning mass in the parish of Murlog, Lifford, in Co. Donegal on December 11 last.
Mrs. Harron is survived by her husband Michael, and children Camille, (37), Micheal, (34), Feargal, (31), Brienin, (29) and Eilis and by her brothers and sisters Dodum, Joseph, Joan, Hugh-Paddy and
Carmel.
The local curate, Father Declan Boland, spoke of the barbarity and callousness of the killing and said it had shaken the community 'to its core.'
She was buried in Murlog cemetery following 1.30 p.m. Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Strabane.
