Although the plants mentioned here are virtually unkillable, all will appreciate being given a proper start in life. When planting any perennial, be sure to mix in some compost into the planting hole, along with a sprinkling of seaweed meal, bloodfish-and-bone, or the fertiliser of your choice (follow the instructions on the packet). Water the plants in their pots before planting, and keep them slightly moist for the next couple of months, until they are established.
