Gardaí are examining a gun that was dropped at the scene of a shooting in west Dublin last night.

The sawn-off shotgun was found near a house on Willow Avenue, Clondalkin, after it was shot shortly before 11pm.

Two people in the house at the time escaped injury but were taken to Tallaght Hospital suffering from shock.

"The culprit dropped a sawn-off shotgun as he ran from the scene," a Garda spokesman said. "No arrests have been made so far, and investigations are ongoing."
