DIABETES MAGAZINE: Diabetes Ireland, the magazine of the Diabetes Federation of Ireland, is now available in newsagents. The federation is working to increase awareness of diabetes and, in a bid to bring information to the public, its magazine is now being distributed by Easons.
The March issue is on sale for 3. In Ireland, diabetes is estimated to affect about 200,000 of the general population, however, 100,000 of these people are unaware they have the condition. Some 2,500 people flocked to the federation's most recent Health Awareness Day in the RDS showing that there is a huge demand for information about both diabetes type 1 and type 2.
