Another 50 householders who claim their homes suffered structurally due to defective pyrite infill used in the construction process have brought High Court cases seeking compensation.
Residents of Taylor’s Point, Rush, Co Dublin, are suing the builders of the houses, Logancourt Properties, in receivership, and Murphy Concrete (Manufacturing), which supplied the material.
The Rush householders have brought actions alleging a number of structural problems, including walls and roofs cracking, were caused as a result of “heaving” caused by the pyrite.
Two years ago, residents in Baldoyle, Swords and Balgriffin settled actions against Menolly Homes and the Lagan Group when a €25.5 million trust fund was set up to pay for the repairs.
