Police and military intelligence officers in Ireland and Britain believe that the arsenal included the following.
between 800 and 1,100 assault rifles, mostly Kalashnikovs;
more than 500 automatic pistols and revolvers;
at least one surface-to-air missile;
about 40 rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs);
at least one sniper rifle;
a small number of flame-throwers;
at least 2¼ tons of Semtex;
several hundred bomb detonators; and
hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition.
