200 ESB customers without power after fire at Dublin substation

Investigation launched after fire at underground substation off Lower Baggot Street

Four units of Dublin Fire Brigade have brought a fire at an underground ESB substation off Lower Baggott Street in Dublin under control.

A spokesman for ESB Networks said 200 customers are without power after the fire and that crews are working to restore their electricity supply. He said power would be restored by 10pm.

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.

Baggot Street Lower is closed between Merrion Row and Pembroke Street as a result of the fire and diversions are in place
