Nearly 600 litres of alcohol seized at Dublin Port

Revenue officers also confiscate 6,700 cigarettes during operations on Monday

Revenue officers seized 598 litres of alcohol and 6,700 cigarettes at Dublin Port on Monday morning.

The goods seized represent a potential loss to the exchequer of €6,700, according to Revenue.

Officers discovered the goods when they stopped and searched a truck arriving in Dublin Port from Holyhead and two vans and a car arriving from Cherbourg in France.

The seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal cigarettes and alcohol.
