A woman pedestrian has died after a road crash in Co Mayo.
The woman, in her 50s, was walking on the N5 Dublin to Westport road near Bohola when she was struck by a car, which was travelling in the direction of Swinford.
The accident occurred about 8pm.
Garda investigations into the crash have begun and traffic detours in operation in advance of a forensic investigation of the scene.
Heavy goods vehicles are asked to avoid the area.
