A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a van in Co Mayo early this morning.
Gardaí are investigating after the man in his 60s was killed on the Ballycastle Road, Killala at about 3.30am this morning.
The man was pronounced dead after the incident and his body remains at scene. The driver of the van was uninjured.
The stretch of road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions were in place.
