Two men die in separate road incidents over the weekend

Two men have died in separate road incidents over the weekend.

A 31-year-old man died in Co Wicklow after being struck by a car on the M11 in Roscath on Saturday night.

The man, who was walking on the road at about 10.30pm, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the mortuary at Loughlinstown Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.

A man in his 20s has also died after his motorcycle left the road in Mullingar on Sunday.

The incident happened at about 11.20am on the old N4 at Coralstown, near Mullingar town.

The man was taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Both roads have been sealed off for forensic examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to either incident to contact them at Wicklow Garda station on 0404 60140 and Mullingar Garda station on 044-9384000 .
