A woman has died following a road traffic collision in Trim, Co Meath.

The two car crash happened on the Athboy road at about 6.50pm yesterday.

The woman in her 60s was the driver of one of the cars and was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, with a serious leg injury. She died this morning.

The driver of the other car was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
