Three Irishmen have been arrested in the Canaries in connection with the alleged rape of a British woman.
Two 19-year-old men and a 20-year-old man, believed to be from the Dublin area, appeared in court today on charges of raping a British teenager in Playa de las Americas on the south coast of Tenerife.
A Department of Foreign spokeswoman said the three had been arrested in the Canary Islands, but would not provide any further details.
She said the Irish embassy in Madrid "was aware of the arrests".
