Gardaí in Monaghan are investigating a fatal collision that occured near Carrickmacross yesterday evening.
A male motorcyclist was killed when he collided with a car on the N2 Carrickmacross by-pass at around 7pm last night.
He was removed to Cavan Hospital.
Gardaí have requested that any witnesses contact them Carrickmacross on 042-966-1222.
The man was the fourth person to die on the state's roads over the weekend and the 286th since the beginning of the year.
