ROME - Malta, once keen on full EU membership, will not be invited to the European Council summit in Dublin next month, writes Paddy Agnew.
Speaking to Maltese television in Rome last week after a meeting with newly elected Maltese Prime Minister, Mr Alfred Sant, the Taoiseach, Mr Bruton, said that Malta would not be invited to the Dublin summit as an aspirant EU member, since Mr Sant had made it clear that Malta was "no longer applying for full EU memberships".
