Gardaí investigating an alleged botched robbery last Wednesday night, during which a garda was shot in the hand, have arrested four people.
A Finglas man in his 20s, who was arrested on Thursday, appeared before the courts on Saturday morning. He was charged with aggravated burglary in connection with the events of Wednesday.
Gardaí now believe that as many as six people may have been involved in the incident that took place at a Finglas petrol station. Three raiders were at the scene when the gardaí arrived. As the men were challenged by gardaí, a shot was fired that injured a trainee garda in the hand.
The garda is now recovering from corrective surgery on his hand.
