A man in his 20s is to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court tomorrow, charge in relation to a fight in which another man was stabbed.

The victim is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the neck during the fight in a laneway off Parnell Street in Limerick city centre yesterday afternoon.

The injured man (33) was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital.

Gardaí said tonight his condition had improved and he was now stable.

A woman, also in her mid-20s, who was arrested as part of the same investigation, has been released without charge.
