Man killed by car in Dublin

AN ELDERLY man was killed after being struck by a car while crossing the Finglas Road in north Dublin yesterday.

AN ELDERLY man was killed after being struck by a car while crossing the Finglas Road in north Dublin yesterday.

He is believed to have been in his 70s and from the Finglas area. A 74-year-old woman, who was with him crossing the busy road near the Premier Dairies plant, was also struck by the city-bound car at about 5.20 p.m.

She suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Mater Hospital.

The driver of the car was uninjured.
