Man killed when struck by train

A man was killed by a train in Mullingar, Co Westmeath last night.

The local man, who was in his 30s, died instantly. The accident occurred as the Dublin-Sligo train was pulling out of Mullingar station at around 6.45 p.m. gardai said.
