A man was stretchered down from Carrauntoohil last night.
The Irish man (57) is understood to have been with a small group of climbers when he collapsed near the top of the mountain, the tallest in Ireland.
The Shannon-based rescue helicopter was unable to reach the man due to heavy cloud cover, and he was later reached by members of Kerry Mountain Rescue and taken to lower ground for the helicopter to pick him up.
He was then transferred to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee.
