More than 40,000 people lined the streets of Limerick yesterday to watch the 30th International Marching Bands competition.

More than 40,000 people lined the streets of Limerick yesterday to watch the 30th International Marching Bands competition.

The overall winners were the 60-strong Sanyo Girls High School Band from Hiroshima, Japan, who also won the prize for the best-dressed majorettes. The Clondalkin Youth Band won the awards for the best dressed home band and the brass and reed competition.
