Unionism and nationalism could face political extinction if politicians failed to embrace the Belfast Agreement, the SDLP Lord Mayor of Belfast told a meeting of politicians and academics from North and South and the UK, last night.Mr Alban Maginness was the keynote speaker at the opening of the Byrne-Perry Summer School in Gorey, Co Wexford. The theme his speech was The Act Of Union."I am happy that the political dinosaurs of unionism and nationalism face political extinction unless they adapt to a new political habitat that values inclusion, change and partnership," said Mr Maginness.He was filling in for Mr Seamus Mallon, Deputy First Minister of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
