Seven Irish milliners led by supremo Philip Treacy have joined forces this month to support Action Breast Cancer’s latest campaign by customising Centra’s popular pink woollen berets.

Each designer has produced a different take on the beanie with Treacy reworking the international pink ribbon symbol in green, white and orange grosgrain.

The hats will be auctioned this week on TV3 with proceeds generated going to the cancer foundation.

This is Centra’s second time to support Irish Cancer Society’s campaign by selling the beanies in two shades of pink for €5 apiece throughout its 468 stores nationwide.

Last year’s campaigns netted €400,000 through the sale of 55,000 pink mitts and the Get The Girls Round fundraising initiative.
