The dead man, married with at least two children, had seen ARA seize control of his five bedroom house. Horses and an equestrian arena were also taken in December 2004 after the High Court in Belfast was told they had been bought with drug money.

During searches of Fleming's home and an apartment he owned in the town, £36,000 in cash was discovered. Examinations found the money was contaminated by traces of ecstasy and cannabis.
