A new Irish television station aimed at viewers under 35 years of age will broadcast its first programme in tomorrow evening.
Channel 6, which describes itself as a "pure entertainment" channel employs some 25 people, and will be available on NTL and Chorus.
The channel, which will concentrate on providing content aimed at viewers under 35 year of age, will broadcast a mix of new homegrown programmes, Take Sixand Night Shiftalong with the American version of the award-winning Office and House.
The station, which will broadcast no news, no sport and no children's programming is hoping to steal market share from RTÉ 2, TV3 and Sky One.
Its presenters, who are being presented to the media today, will front programmes focussing on music, cinema and entertainment.
The station is backed by the Barry family of Cork, the Gowan motor group and several venture capital firms.
