Sydney - Australia said yesterday it would not even consider a recommendation by a leading Clinton administration adviser that it become a dumping ground for the world's nuclear waste.

Mr Robert Gallucci, President Clinton's special envoy on weapons of mass destruction, said Australia should consider accepting radioactive waste left over from the Cold War arms race because it alone had the geography and political stability to do the job.
