Orangemen in Portadown have re-entered a mediation process aimed at resolving a fourth successive stand-off at Drumcree.

Orangemen in Portadown have re-entered a mediation process aimed at resolving a fourth successive stand-off at Drumcree.

Mr Brian Currin, the South African mediator who has been trying to broker a deal on the Drumcree parade since June last year, confirmed members of the Portadown Orange District had re-engaged with the process.

Meanwhile, an RUC officer sustained a head injury in disturbances at a bonfire in the loyalist Edgarstown district of the town last night in which two petrol bombs were thrown.
