A gunman has shot dead the editor of a weekly newspaper in the southern Philippines.
Hernani Pastolero (64) was shot while sitting in front of his home in the village of Bulalo, and the attacker fled on foot, police said.
Police have not determined the motive or found any suspects.
Mr Pastolero was a radio journalist and editor of several publications before he started publishing his own weekly, the Lightning Courier.
International media watchdogs have described the Philippines as among the most dangerous places in the world for reporters. They have criticised the government for not doing enough to find the perpetrators.
The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists said the Philippines and Afghanistan - with three deaths each last year - ranked globally only behind Iraq, where 32 journalists were killed.
