An eminent Northern academic, Prof Gary Love, has died in a hunting accident

An eminent Northern academic, Prof Gary Love, has died in a hunting accident. Prof Love (66) was dean of the faculty of medicine at Queen's University Belfast in the 1980s, and consultant physician at the city's Royal Victoria Hospital. He was the first person from the North to become censor of the Royal College of Physicians of London.

The Health Minister, Ms Bairbre de Brun, said she was "very saddened" by Prof Love's death.
