Progress has been made in a dispute involving a severely dis-abled Cork man and the HSE/Southern Health Board over the provision of basic medical supplies for the man, the High Court was told yesterday.

Last week, Bryan Cotter (27), suing through his father, David Cotter, of Laurel Grove, Model Cottages, Blarney Street, Cork, secured permission to seek a court order compelling the HSE to provide him with special food and medication which, it was claimed, are necessary for his survival.

When the matter came before the court yesterday, Peter Finlay SC, for Mr Cotter, said "some progress" had been made. He asked for an adjournment for a week, which Mr Justice Iarfhlaith O'Neill granted.
