The 32-County Sovereignty Movement has called on Sinn Fein to condemn threats allegedly made against dissident republicans in the North recently.
The Provisional IRA visited the homes of 12 dissidents in Co Tyrone and south Armagh and questioned them about their activities and criticisms of the Sinn Fein leadership, according to dissident sources.
In one incident, a Provisional IRA member allegedly produced a gun and told the dissidents they were being watched closely. In a statement yesterday, Mr Rory Dougan of the movement said it was ironic that while Sinn Fein criticised the security forces' treatment of nationalists, republicans should threaten republicans.
"Republicans have a right to believe that the Stormont deal is not the way to a united Ireland and lasting peace," he said. "We publicly call upon Sinn Fein to disavow and help halt the threats made against republicans who believe the Stormont deal is not the way to a united Ireland."
Mr Dougan said violence between republicans would "serve only British interests".
